Vapour Cycles began as a project to develop carbon fiber manufacturing processes based on emerging (at the time) FDM 3D printing capability on the market - to bring digital perfection into engineered carbon fiber reality!
First Frames
It took a lot of time and effort to bring that dream to reality - with countless prototypes which were developed, manufactured and tested.
The first frames, which lead to our Spirit model are an age old steel classic brought to aerospace frontier - a lugged, completely carbon fiber bicycle frame!
We went through 3 generations of these before arriving at the design for Spirit.
To this day we continue our mission to enable carbon manufacturing technology through 3D printing - developing a special Filament Winder which allows us to build amazing tubes specifically for bicycle application, as well as a host of other parts such as seat posts etc. Very same technology used in building space hardware - we brought to a desktop format and products you can ride.
Our carbon fiber filament control experience continues as we branch out into other bicycle products - robust and lightweight bottle cages, and exceptional bar end plugs you can find in our store.
